Experience the magic!
August 30, 2008
I’ve always enjoyed the peacefulness of the equestrian properties along the Mojave River. For some time my family boarded our horse at Hidden River Ranch, a mile or so north of Boulder Creek. I loved being there and after a time, I asked the owner if I could bring our travel trailer down to spend a night.
I experienced a little bit of heaven that evening. Sitting outside after dusk, my daughter and I listened to the nickering of the horses, the calls of the birds tentatively settling in for the evening, and the wind rustling the tree leaves. The sky was clear, and the late summer nightfall was delightful. I was so relaxed I’d closed my eyes, and my daughter and I spoke in whispers, not wanting to disrupt the serenity. Actually, we didn’t want to lose the feeling of having left behind all the concerns of the day.
And that’s the same feeling I experienced the first time I visited Boulder Creek Ranch. Which is why I asked to blog for the Ranch – it inspires, it relaxes, it de-stresses. It wraps visitors in a cocoon of tranquility.
I will be posting a few times a month. A ranch is rich with life and change and milestones and seasons. I’ll let you know what’s new... a foal’s birth, a community fundraiser, a wedding, a horse show. Whether you are waiting for news of the outdoor kitchen, or the big show arena, sign up for our e-mail alerts or RSS texts to hear about it here first!
